We at Non Slip Floors Australia understand the importance of achieving a non-slip floor, that’s why we specialise in creating the perfect flooring solution for you.
We cater to commercial, Industrial and Residential flooring needs. No job is too big or too small.
Non Slip Floors Australia offer non slip flooring solutions that last and will not fail under wear and abrasion, that’s why we offer a 10 year warranty on our floors.
Non Slip Floors Australia believe in supporting local small businesses, that is why all products we use are sourced from local manufacturers.
We also work with Ecoshield Performance Coatings Pty Ltd who conduct Slip Testing as we believe floor safety is one of the greatest OH&S hazards and should be rigorously tested.
Slips, trips and falls factor for a large percentage of injuries in workplaces and public environments, however the risk of incidents can be minimised with the correct measures in place.
Floor slip testing verifies product performance and helps to identify and manage wear and tear, contamination and cleaning residues. Non Slip Floors Australia alongside Ecoshield Performance Coatings Pty Ltd conducts slip resistance testing, public liability risk assessments and slip accident investigations, and provides expert witness evidence in slip and fall incidents.
Ecoshield offers a specialised surface slip resistance testing service utilising NATA Certified Instrumentation. This surface slip compliance testing is a valuable safety assurance and involves testing for compliance to Australian standards:
AS 4586-2013 Slip Resistance of New Pedestrian Surfaces
AS 4663-2013 Slip Resistance of Used Pedestrian Surfaces
The two most commonly specified and used slip resistance test methods are:
Oiled Inclining Platform Test — as described as an option in AS 4586-2013. This is a laboratory only test and can only apply to new material surfaces intended to be installed in or on a pedestrian walkway.
Instead of water, an amount of motor oil is placed on the test surface and two test persons wear safety boots rather than barefoot.
Pendulum Test Method — can be used for new surfaces as per AS 4586-2013 but also more importantly for existing surfaces in-situ testing.
The Pendulum wet and dry testing is the most widely used assessment procedure in Australia. It simulates moving surface contact with rubber test feet called ‘sliders’.
Because slips occur in the wet condition and many floor surfaces permit the ponding of water, the standardised test is carried out in wet conditions.
ELIMINATE SLIP & TRIP POTENTIAL
Surface slip resistance testing can eliminate slip and trip potential. The cited Australian Standards indicate wet slip resistance requirements for a range of surfaces, including:
Hotels, offices, public buildings, schools and kindergartens
External ramps and pavements
Supermarkets and shopping centres
Loading docks, commercial kitchens, cold stores, serving areas
Swimming pools and sporting facilities
Hospitals and aged care facilities
Private residential buildings
